For as cheap as this item is, I'm fine with the way it looks on the phone. The problem, however, lies in the extremely fragile "clips" that keep the protector attached to the phone. I had bought two expecting one would probably have some defect or breakage happen...unfortunately, both had the same flimsy plastic clip break off the front protector upon application. I would imagine that it would do very little to save your phone much from even the most tame of drops.
